30TH AKMLSO SCIENTIFIC AND EXHIBITION CONFERENCE
Introduction
The Association of Kenya Medical Laboratory Scientific Officers (AKMLSO) holds scientific conferences every year with different themes based on emerging changes and development in the healthcare industry. These conferences contribute to the professional development of laboratory professionals as well as improving healthcare in general. Scientific papers and research are presented and discussed during the conferences and thereafter policy positions and resolutions formulated from the discussions.
This year, AKMLSO 30th MLS Conference will be held at the Prideinn Paradise Conference and Expo Centre in Mombasa from 14th to 17th October 2025. The theme is: ‘Sustainable Solutions in Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics; Shaping a Resilient Healthcare Future” and the sub themes will be as below

The conference target over 350 participants comprising National Government officials, county government officials, medical practitioners and exhibitors, Students, media, development partners, civil societies, International delegates and guests among others.
Information About Prideinn Paradise Conference and Expo Centre, Mombasa
Prideinn Paradise in Mombasa is renowned as a first of its kind in the coast region of Kenya. Proudly known to have Africa’s largest convention Centre and accommodation capacity of over 300 beds. It is located in Shanzu, North Coast. Weather and Climate in Mombasa
Day time temperatures around 30oC and nights lows of about 24oC
High Humidity, making it feel hotter and a high UV index, so sun protection is recommended
Moderate rainfall will also be expected, contributing to overall warm and humid conditions
In overall, October is warm and humid in Mombasa, with a mix of sunshine and occasional rain
Transport Arrangement and arrival at Prideinn Paradise Shanzu,
All delegates will be expected to make own transport arrangements, if required the Conference social team will assist to identify appropriate vehicles for hire.

Driving: Driving distance between Nairobi to Mombasa is 484km and it takes approximates 8hrs 30 minutes to drive to Mombasa
Flight: Kenya Airways and several local airlines fly from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi daily to Moi international Airport in Mombasa
Distance from Moi International airport Mombasa to Prideinn Paradise Shanzu is 20km, taxis are readily available at the airport for transfers
Railway: SGR train boarding at syokimau station and stops at Mombasa terminus at Changamwe

Registered and paid up delegates and guests will pick their already printed tags at the registration desk on arrival.

· All Participants are required to wear their designated badges throughout the conference period.
